New to Google Tag Manager? Let’s take a look...
What is Google Tag Manager?
Google Tag Manager is a tool that makes it easy for you to add and update tags and code snippets on your website and mobile apps - including conversion tracking, site analytics, remarketing, and more. And there’s no need to edit your website code - you can update with just a few clicks.
With Tag Manager you can add and update Infinity, AdWords, Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Floodlight, and 3rd party or custom tags from the Tag Manager user interface instead of editing your site code. This:
- Reduces errors
- Speeds up and simplifies tag management
- Means you don’t have to involve a developer when configuring tags
What’s a tag?
It’s a snippet of code that sends information to a third party, like Infinity and Google.
Without a tag management solution like Tag Manager, you need to add these snippets of code directly to files on your website or mobile app.
With Tag Manager, you do away with the need to maintain each of these code snippets in your source files. Instead, you control all your tags easily from within the Tag Manager user interface, specifying the tags you want to fire, and when you want them to fire.
How Google Tag Manager works
Tag Manager for web works via its own container tag that you place on all your website pages. The container replaces all other manually-coded tags on your site, including tags from Infinity, AdWords, Google Analytics and more. Once the Tag Manager container tag has been added to your site, you update, add, and administer all your additional tags right from the Tag Manager web application.
Infinity’s partnerships mean anyone can use call tracking
As Google Tag Manager’s only call tracking partner, Infinity is now the easiest call tracking system to update and manage, and the quickest to install.
And we haven’t stopped there. We’ll be continually developing our Google Tag Manager functionality, so you can enjoy even more control of the implementation in future.
We’re excited to announce Google Tag Manager as the latest in our growing network of partners. Infinity already implements with over 25 of the leading web systems providers, including Google Analytics, AdWords, LiveChat and DoubleClick Search. Our partnerships give us unique flexibility - so no matter what 3rd party service you use, we make it easy to access and view your call data, clearly and simply.
